Micaiah said, “You will soon see on that day when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”


Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.


YHWH, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see your zeal for the people and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.


Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!


The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.


Listen to me, y’all stubborn-hearted, who are far from righteousness!


Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow bronze;


David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.


The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.


“See how siege ramps have been built against the city to take it. The city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans who fight against it, because of the sword, of the famine, and of the pestilence. What you have spoken has happened. Look, you see it!


Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am YHWH.”’”


“When this comes to pass—it surely it will—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”


The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with desolation. The hands of the people of the land will be troubled. I will do to them after their way, and according to their own judgments I will judge them. Then they will know that I am YHWH.’”


My eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways. Your abominations will be among you. Then y’all will know that I, YHWH, strike.


For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”


Though Edom says, “We are beaten down, but we will return and rebuild the ruined places,” YHWH Almighty says, “They will build, but I will demolish. They will be called ‘The Wicked Land,’ a people with whom YHWH is indignant forever.”


“Y’all’s words against me are harsh,” says YHWH. “Yet y’all say, ‘What have we said against you?’


“For indeed, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the proud and all who work wickedness will be stubble. The day that comes will burn them up,” says YHWH Almighty, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.


Likewise, y’all who are younger, be subject to the elders. All y’all should clothe yourselves in humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
