8 Indeed, you did not hear. and you did not understand. Even long ago, your ear was not opened, for I knew how treacherous-treacherous you are, and were called a rebel from the womb.

Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.


Surely, I was born in iniquity. My mother conceived me in sin.


The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies.


A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous one deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing.


YHWH, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see your zeal for the people and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.


Woe to you who destroy, but you weren’t destroyed, and who betray, but nobody betrayed you! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betrayal, you will be betrayed.


Therefore ʜᴇ poured the fierceness of his anger on ʜɪᴍ, and the strength of battle. It set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know. It burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”


“Y’all remember this and be manly. Bring it to mind again, y’all rebels.


Therefore disaster will come on you. You won’t know when it dawns. Mischief will fall on you. You won’t be able to put it away. Desolation will come on you suddenly, which you don’t understand.


Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow bronze;


They are created now, and not from of old. You didn’t hear them before today, so you cannot say, ‘Yes, I knew them.’


Lord YHWH has opened my ear. I was not rebellious. I have not turned back.


Whom do y’all mock? Against whom do y’all open your mouth and stick out y’all’s tongue? Aren’t y’all children of disobedience and offspring of falsehood,


“Indeed as a woman betrays her companion, so y’all betrayed me, house of Israel,” says YHWH.


For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt treacherous-treacherous against me,” says YHWH.


‘Y’all listen to this now, foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, and don’t see, who have ears, and don’t hear:


To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Indeed, the word of YHWH has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.


They are unfaithful to YHWH; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their fields.


But they, like Adam, have broken the covenant. They were unfaithful to me there.


Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.


Judah has been unfaithful. A detestable things has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has profaned the sanctuary YHWH loves by marrying the daughter of a foreign god.


We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, indulging in the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like all the rest.


YHWH said to Moses, “Look, you are about sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.


I will hide-hide my face in that day because all the evil which they have done in turning to other gods.
