Isn’t my house so with God? Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation and all my desire. Won’t he make it grow?


therefore YHWH the God of Israel says, ‘I am about to bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.


because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”


Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than did the nations whom YHWH destroyed before the children of Israel.


and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute; to Israel for an everlasting covenant,


Fearfulness and trembling have come on me. Horror has overwhelmed me.


I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear YHWH’s law.


The highways are desolate. The traveling man ceases. The covenant is broken. He has despised the cities. He doesn’t respect man.


YHWH says, “Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce certificate that I used to put her away? To which of my creditors have I sold y’all? Look, y’all were sold for your* iniquities, and your* mother was put away for y’all’s transgressions.


Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.


They have turned back to the iniquities of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their ancestors.


They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Y’all must come and join with YHWH in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.’


“‘For Lord YHWH says: “I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.


“‘“But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes and they rejected my ordinances, by which if a person keeps, they will live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.


because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.


Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will place them, multiply them, and will set my sanctuary among them forever more.


He will speak words against the Most High, and will wear out the saints of the Most High. He will plan to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.


We have not obeyed the voice of YHWH our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by ʜɪꜱ servants the prophets.


we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.


But they, like Adam, have broken the covenant. They were unfaithful to me there.


“‘Y’all must keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and do them, so that the land where I am bringing y’all to dwell will not vomit y’all out.


All the days of its desolation it will have rest, the rest that it didn’t have in y’all’s Sabbaths when y’all lived in it.


Y’all must get up go! For this is not a resting place, because uncleanness destroys with a grievous destruction.


They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commands and decrees of the Lord.


But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he abandoned God who made him, and rejected the Rock of his salvation.


Hᴇ said, “I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end will be, for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.


Now may the God of peace, who with the blood of the eternal covenant brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus,


Now the first covenant indeed had ordinances for worship and an earthly sanctuary.


If y’all violate the covenant of YHWH y’all’s God, which ʜᴇ commanded y’all, and go and serve other gods, and bow down to them, then YHWH’s anger will be kindled against y’all, and y’all will perish quickly from the good land which ʜᴇ has given to y’all.”


So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
