For he says, “Aren’t all of my commanders kings?


How then can you turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?


They will make a plunder of your riches and make a prey of your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. They will lay your stones, your timber, and your dust in the middle of the waters.


You have increased your merchants more than the stars of the skies. The grasshopper strips and flees away.


Tyre built herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver like the dust, and fine gold like the mire of the streets.


The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The sound of the bridegroom and of the bride will never be heard in you again. For your merchants were the tycoons of the earth, and all the ethnic groups were deceived with your magic drugs.


For this reason her plagues will come in a single day: death, grief, and famine. She will be burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who has judged her.
