Hᴇ pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.


The one God arms me with strength, and makes my way complete?


The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.


He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. YHWH has ordered the destruction of Canaan’s strongholds.


Howl, y’all ships of Tarshish, for y’all’s fortress is destroyed!


YHWH Almighty has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.


All majesty has departed from the daughter of Zion. Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture. They have gone without strength before the pursuer.


Now the islands will tremble in the day of your fall. Yes, the islands that are in the sea will be dismayed at your departure.’


I will overthrow the throne of empires. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them. The horses and their riders will come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.
