In every province and in every city, wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had gladness, joy, a feast and a holiday. Many from among the peoples of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews had fallen on them.


You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for it is time to have pity on her. Yes, the set time has come.


For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and have pity on her dust.


In your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul, for I am your servant.


Hᴇ has remembered ʜɪꜱ lovingkindness and ʜɪꜱ faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.


In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to YHWH Almighty. One will be called “The city of destruction.”


The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.


In days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will blossom and bud. They will fill the surface of the world with fruit.


“But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend,


you whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from its corners, and said to you, ‘You are my servant. I have chosen you and have not cast you away.’


Yet listen now, Jacob my servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen.


YHWH says: “The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and those tall Sabeans, will come over to you and be yours. They will walk behind you, and come over in chains. They will bow down to you and pray to you: ‘Surely God is with you, and there is no one else. There is no other god.


“Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you will no longer be called tender and delicate.


They will not hunger or thirst; neither will the heat nor sun strike them, for ʜᴇ who has mercy on them will lead them. Hᴇ will guide them by springs of water.


Y’all sing, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth! Break out into singing, mountains! For YHWH has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.


“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even if these forget, I will not forget you!


But YHWH says, “Even the captives of the mighty will be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce, for I will contend with those who contends with you and I will save your children.


YHWH, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise up, princes, and they will worship, because of YHWH who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”


For you will spread out on the right hand and on the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and settle in desolate cities.


Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to YHWH, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.


Let no foreigner who has joined himself to YHWH speak, saying, “YHWH will surely separate me from his people.” Do not let the eunuch say, “Look, I am a dry tree.”


“Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.


The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you City of YHWH, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.


They will bring all y’all’s silbings out of all the nations for an offering to YHWH, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says YHWH, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into the house of YHWH.


but rather, ‘As YHWH lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.


I will be found by y’all,” says YHWH, “and I will reverse your* captivity, and I will gather y’all from all the nations and places where I have driven y’all, says YHWH. I will bring y’all again to the place from where I caused y’all to be carried away into exile.”


It will come to pass in that day, says YHWH Almighty, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds. Strangers will no longer enslave them,


I will build you again, and you will be built, Virgin of Israel. You will again be adorned with your tambourines, and will go out in the dances of those who make merry.


YHWH Almighty says: “The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together. All who took them captive hold them fast. They refuse to let them go.


“We are ashamed because we have heard reproach. Disgrace covers our faces, because strangers have come into the sanctuaries of the house of YHWH.”


Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.


Y’all are to allot as an inheritance for yourselves* and to the foreigners who live among y’all, who will father children among y’all. Then they will be to y’all as the native-born among the children of Israel. They are be allotted an inheritance with y’all among the tribes of Israel.


“Again you are to proclaim, saying, ‘YHWH Almighty says: “My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and YHWH will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”’”


For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name will be great among the nations. In every place incense and a pure offering will be offered to my name, for my name will be great among the nations,” says YHWH Almighty.


Hᴇ has helped ʜɪꜱ servant Israel, remembering to be merciful,


a light for revelation to the ethnic groups, and the glory of your people Israel.”
