May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,


Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh, “For”, he said, “God has made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.”


The seven years of plenty, that were in the land of Egypt, came to an end.


After these things, someone said to Joseph, “Your father is weakening.” He took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.


Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on the head of Ephraim the younger, and his left hand on the head of Manasseh, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
