He recognized it, and said, “It is my son’s tunic. An evil animal has devoured him. Joseph has been torn-torn to pieces.”


She took off the garments of her widowhood, and covered herself with her veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in the gate of Enaim, which is on the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelah was grown up, and she wasn’t given to him as a wife.


Adam had relations with his wife Eve. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, “Through YHWH, I have created a man.”


So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.


David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in custody and provided them with sustenance, but didn’t go in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.


David spoke to YHWH when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, “Look, I have sinned, and I have done wrong. But these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father’s house.”


But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.


I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”


You also bear your own shame yourself, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous than you. Yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.


You have purer eyes than to see evil, and cannot look on perversity. Why then do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than them?


Therefore y’all produce fruit worthy of repentance!


When they heard this, they departed one by one, beginning with the oldest until only Jesus was left with the woman still standing in the middle.


The night is far gone, and the day is near. So let us put away the deeds of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.


Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those under the law, so that every mouth may be closed, and all the world would become accountable to God.


He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have done good to me, whereas I have done evil to you.


You have declared today how you have dealt well with me, because when YHWH had delivered me up into your hand, you didn’t kill me.
