When y’all offer your* gifts, when y’all make your* sons pass through the fire, y’all pollute yourselves* with all your* idols to this day. Should I let y’all inquire of me, house of Israel? As I live, says Lord YHWH, I will not let y’all inquire of me!


“‘Lord YHWH says: “For this, moreover, I will be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.


Therefore they asked of YHWH further, “Has the man come here yet?” YHWH answered, “There he is, he has hidden himself among the supplies.”


Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me! Don’t let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.”


When Saul inquired of YHWH, YHWH didn’t answer him by dreams, by Urim, or by prophets.


David inquired of YHWH, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, will I overtake them?” Hᴇ answered him, “Pursue, because you will overtake-overtake and will rescue-rescue.”
