That which the rest of the people gave was 20,000 darics of gold, plus 2,000 minas of silver, and 67 priests’ garments.


So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel lived in their cities. When the seventh month had come, the children of Israel were in their cities.


All the people gathered themselves together as one man into the wide place that was in front of the water gate; and they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which YHWH had commanded to Israel.


They found written in the law how YHWH had commanded by Moses that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month;


“This is to be a permanent statute for y’all: on the tenth day of the seventh month, y’all are to humble your* souls and do no kind of work, both the native-born or a foreigner who resides among y’all;


“You are to speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, there is be a solemn rest for y’all, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy assembly.


For then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that they may all call on the name of YHWH, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.


Every day, they devoted themselves to being of one mind in the temple, and breaking bread in homes. They ate their food with gladness and sincerity of heart,


The whole group of believers were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that any of their possession was their own, but they held everything in common.


Now I urge y’all, siblings, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that y’all agree with one another and that there be no divisions among y’all, but that y’all be perfected together in the same mind and in the same opinion.


Three times in a year all of your males must appear before YHWH your God in the place ʜᴇ chooses: in the feast of unleavened bread, in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths. They must not appear before YHWH empty-handed.


Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to YHWH at Mizpah.
