The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.


All the souls who came out of Jacob’s body were seventy souls, and Joseph was in Egypt already.


YHWH came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. YHWH called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.


YHWH said to him, “Go down and bring Aaron up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to YHWH, lest he break out against them.”


YHWH said to Moses, “Look, I am going to come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to YHWH.


The people stayed at a distance, and Moses came near to the thick darkness where God was.


Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.


Moses alone is to come near to YHWH, but the others must not come near. The people may not go up with him.”


Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.


“Bring Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, near to you from among the children of Israel, that he may minister to me in the priest’s office: Aaron, with Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.


He said, “Don’t come close. Take off your sandals, for the place you are standing is holy ground.”


Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.


Aaron took Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as his wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.


Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.


YHWH said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.


After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every town and place where he was about to go.


The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”


So I took the heads of y’all’s tribes, wise and respected men, and made them heads over y’all, leaders of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens, and officers for y’all’s tribes.
