Exodus 21:2

May God give you of the dew of heaven, of the fatness of the earth, and an abundance of grain and new wine.


He said, “Isn’t he rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright. See, now he has taken away my blessing.” He said, “Haven’t you reserved a blessing for me?”


Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared YHWH. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”


I said to them, “As much as we could, we have redeemed our fellow Jews who were sold to the nations. But now y’all would sell your* brothers, so that we can buy them back?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.


but every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then he may eat of it.


If he comes in by himself, he will go free by himself. If he is married, then his wife will go free with him.


“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she is not to leave-leave as the male servants do.


If the sun has risen on him, he is guilty of bloodshed. He must make restitution-restitution. If he has nothing, then he must be sold for his theft.


If he is not redeemed by these means, then he and his children with him are to be released in the Year of Jubilee.


But because he couldn’t pay, the master ordered that he, his wife, his children, and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.


For y’all were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in y’all’s body.


At the end of every seven years, you must cancel debts.


You should not view it as a hardship when you let him go free from you, for he has been double the value of a hired hand as he served you six years. YHWH your God will bless you in all that you do.
