It is a snare for a person to blurt out, “Holy!”, then later to consider their vows.


“‘Or if anyone swears rashly with their lips to do evil or to do good—whatever it is that a person might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him—when they knows of it, then they will be guilty of one of these.


But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to YHWH.”


For the lips of the priest should preserve knowledge, and people should seek the instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of YHWH Almighty.


Wasn’t it yours when you owned it? And after it was sold, wasn’t spending it your choice? Then why did you put this idea in your heart? You haven’t just lied to humans, but to God.”


When you vow a vow to YHWH your God, you must not be slack to pay it, for YHWH your God will require-require it of you, and it would be sin in you.


But if you refrain from making a vow, it would not be sin in you.


When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you are one of those who trouble me; for I have opened my mouth to YHWH, and I can’t go back.”
