Although my father burdened y’all with a heavy yoke, I will increase to y’all’s yoke. My father disciplined y’all with whips, but I will discipline y’all with scorpions.’”


Worthless men were gathered to him, wicked fellows who strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender hearted, and could not withstand them.


Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.


Joahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.


Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. He did that which was evil in YHWH his God’s sight.


Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight.


A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.


The labor of fools wearies every one of them; for he doesn’t know how to go to the city.


As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.


House of David, YHWH says, ‘Y’all must administer justice every morning, and deliver the person who has been robbed from the hand of the oppressor, or else my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the their evil deeds.
