when y’all were but few in number, yes, very few, and foreigners in it.


when they were but a few in number, few indeed, and foreigners in it.


you seed of Abraham, ʜɪꜱ servant, you children of Jacob, ʜɪꜱ chosen ones.


Not to us, YHWH, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your lovingkindness, and for your truth’s sake.


For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.


Look to Abraham y’all’s father, and to Sarah who bore y’all; for when he was but one I called him, I blessed him, and made him many.


In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.


Tell them, ‘Lord YHWH says: “In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, ‘I am YHWH y’all’s God;’


“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘Lord YHWH says: “I am not doing this for y’all’s sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which y’all have profaned among the nations where y’all have gone.


How narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life! There are few who find it.


“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for y’all’s Father delights to give y’all the empire.


And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.


So then, ʜᴇ has mercy on whom ʜᴇ wants to, and ʜᴇ hardens whom ʜᴇ wants to.


Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?


YHWH your* God has multiplied y’all, and today, y’all are as numerous the stars of the sky.


Your ancestors went down into Egypt with seventy persons, and now YHWH your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.


For you are a holy people to YHWH your God, and YHWH has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.


Because he loved your fathers, therefore he chose their offspring after them, and brought you out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt;


Y’all look at the kind of love the Father has given to us—that we should be called children of God! And indeed we are! For this reason the world doesn’t know us: because it didn’t know ʜɪᴍ.


In this is love, not that we loved God, but that ʜᴇ loved us, and sent ʜɪꜱ Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
