5 But y’all are to seek the place which YHWH y’all’s God will choose from among all y’all’s tribes, to put his name there as ʜɪꜱ habitation. To that place, y’all are to go.

If this people goes up to offer sacrifices in the house of YHWH at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, even to Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me, and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.”


Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which YHWH had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.


‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’


YHWH has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as YHWH promised, and have built the house for the name of YHWH, the God of Israel.


But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Look, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this house that I have built!


May your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My Name will be there,’ so that you may hear the prayer that your servant prays toward this place.


But if y’all tell me, ‘We trust in YHWH our God,’ isn’t ʜᴇ the one whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has removed, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘Y’all must worship before this altar in Jerusalem?’


Then David said, “This is the house of YHWH God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”


Then YHWH appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for myself for a house of sacrifice.


Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his relatives, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.


May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who stretch out their hand to alter this, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree. Let it be done with all diligence.


Therefore you must with all diligence buy with this money bulls, rams, and lambs with their meal offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them on the altar of the house of y’all’s God which is in Jerusalem.


But if y’all return to me, and keep my commandments and do them, even though y’all are exiled to the furthest horizon, I will gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen for my name to dwell.’


But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which ʜᴇ loved.


Y’H is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.


You are to make an altar of earth for me, and sacrifice your burnt offerings on it along with your peace offerings, your sheep, and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.


There I will meet with you, and I will tell you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the covenant, all that I command you for the children of Israel.


“YHWH says: ‘Stand in the court of the house of YHWH, and speak to all the cities of Judah which come to worship in the house of YHWH, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Don’t omit a word.


“But now y’all must go to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.


Therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which y’all trust, and to the place which I gave to y’all and to y’all’s ancestors, as I did to Shiloh.


and hasn’t brought it to the door of the Tent of Meeting to offer it as an offering to YHWH before YHWH’s tabernacle: blood must be imputed to that man. He has shed blood and must be cut off from among his people.


When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with YHWH, he heard his voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; and he spoke to him.


then YHWH y’all’s God will choose a place for ʜɪꜱ name to dwell. Y’all are to bring all that I command y’all: y’all’s burnt offerings, sacrifices, tithes, the contribution of y’all’s hand, and all y’all’s choice offerings that y’all vow to YHWH.


You must be careful that you don’t offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see,


but you are to eat them before YHWH your God in the place which YHWH your God will choose: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates. You will rejoice before YHWH your God in all that you put your hand to.


Y’all must not do this to YHWH y’all’s God.


You are to eat before YHWH your God, in the place which he chooses to cause ʜɪꜱ name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock, so that you may learn to fear YHWH your God always.


If the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it because the place which YHWH your God will choose to set ʜɪꜱ name there is too far from you, when YHWH your God blesses you,


You are to eat it before YHWH your God year by year in the place that YHWH chooses, you and your household.


Rejoice before YHWH your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, in the place where YHWH your God chooses to cause ʜɪꜱ name to dwell.


You are to keep a feast to YHWH your God seven days in the place which YHWH chooses, because YHWH your God will bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you are to be altogether joyful.


You are to sacrifice the Passover to YHWH your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place that YHWH chooses to cause ʜɪꜱ name to dwell.


but at the place where YHWH your God chooses to cause ʜɪꜱ name to dwell in, there you must sacrifice the Passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came out of Egypt.


You are to roast and eat it in the place which YHWH your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents.


If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates, then go up to the place which YHWH your God chooses.


If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel where he lives, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which YHWH chooses,


you are to take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground which you bring in from your land that YHWH your God is giving you. You are to put it in a basket and go to the place that YHWH your God chooses for ʜɪꜱ name to dwell.


when all Israel has come to appear before YHWH your God in the place which he will choose, you are to read this law before all Israel in their hearing.


For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,


But y’all have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable multitude of angels,


The whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the Tent of Meeting there. The land was subdued before them.


The children of Israel heard this, “Look, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar along the border of the land of Canaan, in the region around the Jordan, on the side that belongs to the children of Israel.”


That day Joshua made them wood cutters and water carriers for the congregation and for the altar of YHWH to this day, in the place which he should choose.


I looked, and there was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him were a 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
