But Absalom fled and went to Talmai the son of Ammihur, king of Geshur. David mourned for his son every day.


Then Joab arose and came to Absalom to his house, and said to him, “Why have your servants set my field on fire?”

For he flatters himself in his own eyes, too much to detect and hate his sin.

and the children of Israel said to them, “If only we had died by YHWH’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate our fill of bread. Instead, y’all brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”


The people were thirsty for water there; so the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”


He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.


Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed. They couldn’t blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. In the time of their visitation they will be cast down, says YHWH.


“Then they will also answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t care for you?’


Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those under the law, so that every mouth may be closed, and all the world would become accountable to God.


Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, “You are blessed by YHWH! I have performed the commandment of YHWH.”


Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of YHWH with you; but if there is iniquity in me, kill me yourself, for why should you bring me to your father?”
