I will give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.


But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were slain, and put him and him and his in a bedroom. They hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not killed.


‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for my servant David’s sake.’”


However YHWH would not destroy David’s house, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.


For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.


I will make the horn of David to bud there. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.


‘For I will defend this city and save it, for my own sake, and for the sake of my servant David.’”


Therefore the Lord ʜɪᴍꜱᴇʟꜰ will give y’all a sign. Look, the virgin will become pregnant and bear a son, and she will name him Immanuel.


I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.
