“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;


He did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom YHWH cast out before the children of Israel.


He did evil in the sight of YHWH, as Manasseh his father did.


He abandoned YHWH, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of YHWH.


The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of YHWH, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the brook Kidron.


Moreover, Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of YHWH.


He did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, according to all that his fathers had done.
