Joash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria, who then withdrew from Jerusalem.

Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of YHWH and in the treasures of the king’s house.


The king of Assyria sent Tartan, Rabsaris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great army to Jerusalem. They went up and came to Jerusalem. When they had come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.


In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of YHWH and repaired them.


Hezekiah was pleased and showed them his treasure storehouse of his precious—the silver, gold, spices, and precious oil, and all the armory, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
