Early in the morning, Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them. Laban departed and returned to his place.


Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.


Joseph brought in Jacob, his father, and set him before Pharaoh; and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.


Now the men took this as a good sign and were quick to take his word. They said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Y’all go and bring him.” So Ben Hadad came out to him, and he took him up into the chariot.


Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, “Who are y’all?” They answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah. We are going down to greet the children of the king and the children of the queen.”


He said, “Y’all must take them alive!” They took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty-two men. He didn’t leave any of them.


Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.


The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.


They gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.


Malchijah the son of Rechab, the ruler of the district of Beth Haccherem, repaired the dung gate. He built it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.


Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?


“You are to go to the house of the Rekabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of YHWH, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.”


For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Even though he had given his hand in pledge, he still did all these things. He won’t escape.


“How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” He invited Philip to come up and sit with him.


When they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the ethnic groups, and they to the circumcised.


I beg y’all, siblings, become as I am, for I also have become as y’all are. Y’all did me no wrong,
