So I always strive to maintain a clear conscience before God and humans.


and not to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than God’s economy, which is in faith.


realizing that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for father-killers and mother-killers, for murderers,


but with what is appropriate for women who profess reverence for God, that is, good deeds.


By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the ethnic groups, believed on in the world, and taken up in glory.


For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, holding promise for the present life and the life to come.


But you, as a human of God, flee from these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.


Timothy, you must guard what has been entrusted to you, turning away from empty chitchat and opposing what is falsely called “knowledge,”


If anyone spreads false teaching and doesn’t agree with sound instruction (that is, from our Lord Jesus Christ) and with godly teaching,


and constant friction between humans with corrupt minds who are destitute of the truth and suppose that godliness is a means of gain.


But avoid profane chitchat, because it drives people toward further ungodliness,


But reject foolish and uninformed speculations, knowing that they generate quarrels.


Indeed, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Indeed, they will turn their ears away from the truth, and turn themselves toward myths.


not paying attention to Jewish myths and human commandments from those who turn away from the truth.


instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live moderately, righteously, and reverently in this present age,


But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, infighting, and disputes about the Law, because they are unprofitable and useless.


But solid food is for the mature, who by practicing habits of the mind are able to discern between excellence and worthlessness.
