I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor. I won’t tolerate one who is arrogant and conceited.


who doesn’t slander with their tongue, or do evil to their friend, or insult a neighbor;


You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son.


He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.


As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him; for he refreshes the soul of his masters.


“Y’all must be on guard against your* neighbor, and y’all cannot trust in any relatives; for every relative will cheat-cheat, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.


They must not marry a widow or a divorced woman, but they are to marry virgins from the offspring of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest.


“‘They must not marry a woman who is profaned by prostitute, and they must not marry a woman divorced from her husband, because he is holy to his God.

I thank the one who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to deacon-work,


The overseer therefore must be without reproach, a one-woman man, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, able to teach,


Those who have believing masters should not be disrespectful because they are brethren, but rather they should serve them, because those who partake of the benefit of their work are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these things.


unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, savage, not goodness-lovers,


But you are to be sober-minded in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and accomplish your deacon-work.


Likewise, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or enslaved to much wine. They are to be teachers of what is good,


to vilify no one, to be peaceable, to be gentle, always showing gentleness to all humans.


Y’all be sober-minded and alert. Y’all’s adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
