He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother got a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.


Sarah died in Kiriath Arba (also called Hebron), in the land of Canaan. Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.


When the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, “This is a grievous mourning by the Egyptians.” Therefore its name was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.


Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.


Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

Afterward the people traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.


They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.


Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of YHWH. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.


When all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they wept for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.


Devout men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.


The children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.


They rose up in the morning early and worshiped YHWH, then returned and came to their house to Ramah. Then Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and YHWH remembered her.


Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. Saul had sent away those who had familiar spirits and the wizards out of the land.


His return was to Ramah, for his house was there, and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to YHWH there.
