Then Joseph hurried out because his compassion was kindled over his brother, and he sought a place to weep. He entered into his room and wept there.


The king said, “Y’all are to divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other.”


Then the king answered, “Y’all are to give the living child to the first woman. Y’all must not kill-kill him. She is his mother.”


My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue:


“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even if these forget, I will not forget you!


Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I still remember-remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him. I will have compassion-compassion on him,” says YHWH.


“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.

For God is my witness, how I long for y’all in the affection of Christ Jesus.

unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, savage, not goodness-lovers,


If someone has worldly possessions and sees his sibling in need but closes his heart toward them, how does God’s love remain in that person?
