The water in the container was spent, and she put the child under one of the shrubs.


She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, “Don’t let me see the death of the child.” She sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.


Ittai answered the king and said, “As YHWH lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king is, whether for death or for life, your servant will be there also.”


Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As YHWH, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there will not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
