There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.


for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, the God of Israel, to anger.


For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke YHWH, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.


They rejected his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified to them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom YHWH had commanded them that they should not do like them.


Look, all of their deeds are vanity and nothingness. Their molten images are wind and emptiness.


They are worthless, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.


But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols made of wood.


Those who pay attention to worthless idols forfeit the divine love that could be theirs.


So then, about eating things sacrificed to idols: we know that, “An idol is nothing in the world,” and that, “There is no God but one.”


They have moved me to jealousy with what is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.


Y’all must not turn away to go after vain things that can’t profit and can’t deliver, because they are worthless.
