For this people's heart is waxed gross. And their ears were dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their hearts, and should turn, that I might heal them.


Greater love than this hath no man, than that a man bestow his life for his friends.


For he was a perfect man, and full of the holy ghost and of faith. And much people was added unto the Lord.


which have for my life laid down their own necks. Unto whom not I only give thanks: but also the congregations of the gentiles.


¶ For when we were yet weak according to the time: Christ died for us which were ungodly.


But God setteth out his love that he hath to us, Seeing that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.


¶ Hereby perceive we love: that he gave his life for us: And we ought also to give our lives for the brethren.
