They said, some say that thou art Ihon baptist, some Helyas, some Ieremias, or one of the prophets.


And the people said: this is Iesus the prophet of Nazareth a city of Galilee.


And behold, I will send the promise of my father upon you. But tarry ye in the city of Ierusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.


Ihon answered and said to them all: I baptise you with water, but a stronger then cometh, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptise you with the holy ghost, and with fire,


And there came a fear on them all. And they glorified God saying: a great prophet is risen among us, and God hath visited his people.


And they asked him: what then? art thou Helias? And he said: I am not. Art thou a prophet? And he answered no.


And they asked him, and said unto him: why baptisest thou then, if thou be not Christ, nor Helias, neither a prophet?


But he that sent me to baptise in water, said unto me: Upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descend, and tarry still on him, the same is he which baptiseth with the holy ghost.


These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Iesus was glorified, then remembered they that such things were written of him, and that such things they had done unto him.


And Iesus answered them saying: the hour is come that the son of man must be glorified.


And whatsoever ye ask in my name, that will I do, that the father might be glorified by the son.


But that comforter which is the holy ghost (whom my father will send in my name) shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have told you.


He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew unto you.


Nevertheless I tell you the truth it is expedient for you that I go away. For if I go not away, that comforter will not come unto you. But if I depart, I will send him unto you.


¶ These words spake Iesus and lift up his eyes to heaven, and said: father the hour is come glorify thy son that thy son may glorify thee.


And now glorify me thou father in thine own presence, with the glory which I had with thee yer the world was.


And when he had said that, he blew on them, and said unto them: Receive the holy ghost.


Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Iesus did, said: This is of a truth the same prophet which shall come into the world.


And much murmuring was there of him among the people. Some said: He is good. Other said nay, but he deceiveth the people.


¶ Iesus answered: If I praise myself, mine praise is nothing worth. It is my father that praiseth me, which ye say is your God.


and said unto them: have ye received the holy ghost after ye believed? And they said unto him: No, neither have we heard if there be any holy ghost or no.


It shall be in the last days (saith God) of my spirit I will pour out upon all flesh. And your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions. And your old men shall dream dreams.


¶ Since now that he by the right hand of God exalted is, and hath received of the father the promise of the holy Ghost, he hath shed forth that which ye now see and hear.


Peter said unto them: Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Iesus Christ, For the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost.


and they were all filled with the holy ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the spirit gave them utterance.


God of Abraham, Isaac, and Iacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Iesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged him to be lowsed:


And as soon as they had prayed, the place moved where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God boldly.


¶ But ye are not given to the flesh, But to the spirit: If so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. If there be any man that hath not the spirit of Christ, the same is none of his.


why shall not the ministration of the spirit be much more glorious?


And grieve not the holy spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
