Then came the jewes round about him, and said unto him: How long dost thou make us doubt? If thou be Christ, tell us plainly.


Iesus answered them: many good works have I shewed you from my father: for which of them will ye stone me?


The jewes answered him. We have a law, and by our law he ought to die: because he made himself the son of God.


Therefore the iewes sought the more to kill him, not only because he had broken the saboth: but said also that God was his father and made himself equal with God.


¶ Let every soul submit himself unto the authority of the higher powers. There is no power but of God. The powers that be, are ordained of God.


Which being in the shape of God, and thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
