Thou abhorrest images, and robbest God of his honour. Thou rejoicest in the law, and thorow breaking the law dishonourest God.


What will ye? Shall I come unto you with a rod, or else in love, and in the spirit of meekness?


Therefore write I these things being absent, lest when I am present I should use sharpness according to the power which the Lord hath given me, to edify, and not to destroy.


I told you before, and tell you before, as I said when I was present with you the second time, so write I now being absent to them which in time past have sinned, and to all other: If I come again, I will not spare


For this cause verily did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye should be obedient in all things.


And now is his inward affection more abundant toward you, when he remembereth the obedience of every one of you: how with fear and trembling ye received him.


Of whose number is Himeneus, and Alexander, which I have delivered unto Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.


wherefore if I come I will declare his deeds which he doeth jesting on us with malicious words, neither is therewith content. Not only he himself receiveth not the brethren: but also he forbiddeth them that would, and thrusteth them out of the congregation.
