And from thence to Philippi, which is the first city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony.


But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made an assault with one consent upon Paul, and brought him to the judgment-seat, Saying,


But took his leave of them, saying, I must by all means keep the approaching feast at Jerusalem, but I will return to you again, if God will.


And having sent two of those who ministred to him, Timothy and Erastus, into Macedonia, he himself staid in Asia for a season.


And the whole city was filled with confusion; and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's fellow-travellers.


For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, that he might not spend any time in Asia; for he hasted, if it were possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.


And now behold, being bound by the Spirit, I go to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:


And when we were come up to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.


And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days, who told Paul by the Spirit, Not to go up to Jerusalem.


And the night following, the Lord standing by him, said, Be of good courage, Paul: for as thou hast testified the things concerning me at Jerusalem, so thou must testify at Rome also.


And as soon as it was determined, that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul, and certain other prisoners, to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan Cohort.


thou must be presented before Cesar: and lo God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.


And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself, with the soldier that kept him.


For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift,


Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that I have often purposed to come to you, (though I have been hindred hitherto) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the other Gentiles.


Therefore, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also who are at Rome.


Now I will come to you, when I have passed through Macedonia,


But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord permit, and will know, not the speech of them who are puffed up, but the power.


yet still within our province, abundantly, So as to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, not to boast in another's province of things made ready to our hand.


Then fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.


So that ye became examples to all that believed in Macedonia and Achaia.
