“If you devote your heart to Him and spread out your hands to Him,


My intercessor is my friend; as my eyes pour out tears to God;


My eyes have grown dim with grief and all my limbs are like a shadow.


Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, and whom God has hedged in?


My enemies taunt me all day. My deriders use my name to curse.


I spread forth my hands to You. My soul longs for You as a parched land. Selah


My Lord, all my longing is before You, and my sighing is not hidden from You.


My friends and my companions stay away from my wound, and my kinsmen stand far off.


My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and appear before God?


Yet You crushed us in a place of jackals, covered us with the shadow of death.


As for me, I will call on God, and Adonai will save me.


I am worn out with my groaning. Every night I make my bed swim, drenching my pillow with my tears.


Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves, peoples trampling down pieces of silver. He has scattered the peoples who delight in war!


Be gracious to me, my Lord, for to You I cry all day.
