So she called Adonai who was speaking to her, “You are the God who sees me.” For she said, “Would I have gone here indeed looking for Him who looks after me?”


He called the name of that place Beth-El (though originally the city’s name was Luz).


For you had very little before I came, and it has been busting at the seams in abundance. So Adonai blessed you with my every step. So now, when am I myself going to make something for my household also?”


But they told him all of Joseph’s words that he had told them. When he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to pick him up, the spirit of their father Jacob revived.


He will drink from a stream along the way —so His head will be exalted.


A Song of Ascents. In my trouble I cried out to Adonai, and He answered me.


They who looked to Him were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.


Call upon Me in the day of trouble. When I rescue you, you will honor Me.”


Then Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Adonai-Nissi.


Lift up your eyes on high, and see! Who created these? The One who brings out their host by number, the One who calls them all by name. Because of His great strength and vast power, not one is missing.


He gives strength to the weary, and to one without vigor He adds might.


For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit on your offspring, and My blessing on your descendants.


Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with the staff. Water gushed out and the community and its livestock drank.


Then the Philistines went up and camped in Judah and spread out in Lehi.


and they also gave him a piece of fig cake and two cakes of raisins. When he had eaten, his spirit came back to him, for he had eaten no bread and drunk no water for three days and three nights.
