As when one plows and breaks open the earth, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.


The hand of Adonai was upon me. The Ruach Adonai carried me out and set me down in the middle of the valley. It was full of bones.


Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say: ‘Our bones are dried up; our hope is lost; we are cut off—by ourselves.’


Then He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I answered, “Adonai Elohim, You know.”


Are they not across the Jordan toward the west, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah—opposite Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
