Javan’s sons were Elishah and Tarshish, Kittites and Dodanites.


The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tuval, Meshech and Tiras.


The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim and Rodanim.


Woe to me, for I sojourn in Meshech, for I dwell among the tents of Kedar!


Then I will set up a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul and Lud (who pull the bow), to Tubal and Javan, to distant islands that have not heard My fame or seen My glory. Then they will declare My glory among the nations.


“‘Tarshish was your trading partner because of the abundance of all riches. With silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for your merchandise.


Vedan and Javan from Uzal traded for your wares—ironwork, cinnamon and spices were bartered for your merchandise.


“Meshech-Tubal is there and all her throng, her graves around them —all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they spread their terror in the land of the living.


“You, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, thus says Adonai Elohim: ‘Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.


“Then he said: ‘Do you understand why I have come to you? Now I must return to fight against the prince of Persia! When I go, behold, the prince of Greece will come.
