Then all the commanders of the forces, Johanan son of Kareah, Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, approached


“For from the least to the greatest, all of them are greedy for gain, and from prophet even to kohen, everyone practices deceit.


Therefore I will give their wives to others and their fields to new owners. For from the least to the greatest everyone is greedy for gain. From the prophet even to the kohen everyone practices deceit.


Then the people of Nineveh believed God and called for a fast and wore sackcloth—from the greatest of them to the least of them.


Now the crowd, seeing what Paul had done, lifted up their voices, saying in Lycaonian, “The gods have become like men and come down to us!”


They were expecting him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead—but after they waited a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and began to say he was a god.

For you, being so wise, put up with fools gladly.
