At that time, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon’s troops marched against Jerusalem and the city fell under siege.


Then King Jehoiachin of Judah, his mother, his courtiers, his officials, and his eunuchs surrendered to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.


I will encamp against you all around, I will set up siege-works against you and will raise up ramps against you.


until I come and take you away to a land like your own land—a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.’


Say now to the rebellious house, “Do you not know what these things mean?” Tell them: “Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, took the king and the princes and brought them with him to Babylon.


The nations gathered against him on every side from the provinces. They spread their net over him. He was caught in their pit.
