Once he had the kingdom firmly secured under him, he executed his courtiers who had assassinated his father the king.


Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was 16 years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.


So his servants conspired against him and assassinated him in his own house.


Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned 31 years in Jerusalem.


Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in Jerusalem in his father’s place.


“You are not to accept ransom for the life of a murderer. He deserves to die and he is to die.


You are not to pollute the land in which you are. Blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for land polluted by bloodshed except by the blood of the one who sheds it.
