Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.


For just as lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.


Later, as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign of yoʋr coming and of the end of the age?”


Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect him.


“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, he will sit down on his throne of glory.


But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”


And he said to them, “Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will certainly not taste death until they see the kingdom of God come with power.”


(He said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.) After saying this, he said to Peter, “Follow me.”


When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”


For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.


So then, do not judge anything before the appointed time. Wait until the Lord comes, who will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the heart. At that time each person will receive his praise from God.


For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting in the presence of our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?


Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it until it receives the early and latter rain.


You also must be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord has drawn near.


Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. So shall it be! Amen.


Only hold fast to what you have until I come.


He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. So shall it be. Come, Lord Jesus!


“Behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”


I am coming quickly. Hold fast to what yoʋ have so that no one will take yoʋr crown.
