Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.


Now to the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she consents to dwell with him, he must not divorce her.


Now concerning virgins, I do not have a command from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who has been shown mercy by the Lord to be trustworthy.


Now I say this as a concession, not as a command.


in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,


So I am giving my advice about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were not only the first who wanted to give, but you were also the first to begin doing so.


Therefore show them in front of all the churches the proof of your love and the reason for our boasting about you.


For I know how eager you are to help, and I keep boasting about you to the Macedonians, saying that Achaia has been prepared to give since last year; and your zeal has stirred up most of them.


Each person should give as he decides in his heart, not with sadness or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.


Rather, speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, that is, Christ.


Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love. Amen.


And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good works,


Since you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth through the Spirit, resulting in genuine brotherly love, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.
