And he cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?"


Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.


Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation."


As they were gathering[4] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men,


And he said to them, "This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer."[5]


While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."


And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
