Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence --


In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the exiles by the Chebar canal, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.[1]


And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him,[2] and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;


And a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son;[4] with you I am well pleased."


In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
