Remember, O Lord, against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem, how they said, “Raze it, raze it! Down to its foundations!”


He who mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.


“Though you rejoice, though you exult, O plunderers of my heritage, though you are wanton as a heifer at grass, and neigh like stallions,


Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, dweller in the land of Uz; but to you also the cup shall pass; you shall become drunk and strip yourself bare.


For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within you against the land of Israel,


“Edom is there, her kings and all her princes, who for all their might are laid with those who are slain by the sword; they lie with the uncircumcised, with those who go down to the Pit.


I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.


“And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.
