3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.


He said to Seraiah, ‘When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud.


‘So when you see standing in the holy place “the abomination that causes desolation,” spoken of through the prophet Daniel – let the reader understand –


He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.’


And do this, understanding the present time: the hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.


The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light.


The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.


But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.


Then he told me, ‘Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near.


‘Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.


He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.


I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no-one will take your crown.
