12 Tagairtí Cros

The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.

‘Listen, my people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel: I am God, your God.

Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.

O God, why have you rejected us for ever? Why does your anger smoulder against the sheep of your pasture?

Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach,

‘Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: instruction will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

Whoever has ears, let them hear.’

‘Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will praise the Lord, the God of Israel, in song.
