‘Though his face is covered with fat and his waist bulges with flesh,


Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law.


We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.


Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.


The enemy boasted, “I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.”

Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Saviour.


For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.


‘Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.
