Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains.


Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.


Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: he will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.


Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.


You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.


But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay; the bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in you.


Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the Lord your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling.


As surely as the Lord lives,’ he said, ‘the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.
