They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.


Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.


The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.


I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.


‘Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.


All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shrivelled figs from the fig-tree.


The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures for ever.’


Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last for ever, my righteousness will never fail.


Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.


so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.


All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar.


God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?


For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
