these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.’


All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will be accepted as offerings on my altar, and I will adorn my glorious temple.


Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.


The merchant uses dishonest scales and loves to defraud.


and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.


‘It is written,’ he said to them, ‘ “My house will be a house of prayer”; but you have made it “a den of robbers”.’


In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.


To those who sold doves he said, ‘Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!’
